DoudouLinux

DoudouLinux is a computer environment designed for children that is as simple to use as a gaming console. Raizo

Raizo is a live system used by the CFA UTEC (Centre de Formation d'Apprentis de la Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie; training center of the chamber of commerce) in Seine et Marne, France, during the course of networking and Linux administration.

It contains NetKit, Visual NetKit and GNS3. GNS3 is provided without any IOS but with 2 scripts (gstart and ghalt) to use GNS3 with NetKit. Raizo includes Wireshark, aircrack-ng, DHCP, FTP, TFTP, SSH. No service is starting automatically and the interface and documentation are mostly in French.

Ubuntu

Ubuntu is a Linux distribution that starts with the breadth of Debian and adds regular releases (every six months), a clear focus on the user and usability (it should "Just Work", TM) and a commitment to security updates with 18 months of support for every release. Ubuntu ships with the latest GNOME and KDE releases as well as a selection of server and desktop software that makes for a comfortable desktop experience off a single installation CD.

Voyage

Voyage is best run on a x86 embedded platforms such as PC Engines ALIX/WRAP and Soekris 45xx/48xx boards.

It can also run on low-end x86 PC platforms. Typical installation requires 128MB disk space, although larger storage allows more packages to be installed. Voyage Linux is so small that it is best suitable for running a full-feature firewall, wireless access point, VoIP gateway and network storage device.

Webconverger

Webconverger is a minimalistic browser-only system designed to be used solely for accessing Web applications. It does not have high system requirements and will also run on older machines.

Webconverger runs the Iceweasel web browser with a customised window manager dwm and Firefox add-on that locks the browser to a simple kiosk operation mode. The browser runs in full screen mode with all menus, toolbars, key commands and most right button menus disabled. Webconverger contains Adobe Flash support and PDF viewing by default. Both wired and wireless networks are supported via DHCP. There is also support for internationalization, including CJK input methods.

Window Maker Live

The Window Make Live CD applies the Window Maker window manager as default graphical user interface, and successfully manages to integrate well known standard open source components in a very attractive and usable user interface.

This is of special interest for users, who are not really happy with the recent graphic user interface developments of the more commonly applied Linux distributions. As Window Maker provides a very good balance between usability and a light interface, there is no reason to bother with the overhead of a full blown desktop environment.

XBMC

XBMC Media Center (formerly Xbox Media Center) is a multimedia player/jukebox application for Linux, Mac OS X, Windows, and Xbox. It can be used to play or view most common video, audio, and picture formats such as MPEG-1/2/4, DivX, XviD, MP3, AAC, JPG, and GIF directly from a CD or DVD in the Xbox DVD-ROM drive or from the Xbox hard drive. XBMC can also stream files over a local network or from the Internet. Playlist and slideshow functions, a weather forecast, and many audio visualizations are also included.

Xen

The Xen Live CD brings together several features and attempts to show many different situations, as far as possible, in a clear and functional way. For example, different architectures of the Hypervisor, pre-configured virtual machines with different kernel of dom0, virtual framebuffer enabled for virtual work stations, extra examples with SDL console enabled, demonstration of conversion between machines HVM / PVM, several methods of how to make a virtual hard disk, among many other examples of what can be done with Xen.
